Elliot Patching About

This was taken just after the wedding ceremony under a railway bridge next to the church. I have lived around this area all my life and had always wanted to do this shot. For a church that is so local to me, I had strangely only shot one wedding here previously. On that occasion, the light just wasn't right. I promised myself I would only make the image if it would work out as I'd hoped in my mind. One this occasion everything was right. It was sunny, the shaft of light falling on the back wall was perfect and I had a bride and groom that were as enthusiastic as me for the outcome. They both waded over gravel and dirt and we achieved this image together!

Elliot Patching About

I saw the potential of this shot pretty much as I was leaving the wedding. The Bride and Groom at this point were surrounded by guests on the dance floor. I battled my way through the crowd to find them and they were both more than happy to take some time out for what I thought would be a great image. Having positioned them where I wanted them I set about creating the shot, fumbling around with a prism to reflect the lights above and getting very strange looks from onlookers. It was this point the Groom decided to lift his bride up elevating not just his bride but the end image from good to great!
