Fiona Walsh About

I love doing an epic last photo of the night for my couples. Something a little wowy and fun, different and interesting.
This was just a wall with fairy light wreaths, I spotted it earlier when the dancing got going and thought how cool it could look!

The golden hour meets the blue hour. The time when photographer's delight at the most warmest light, then when the sun goes down we get this lush bold blue. I love to do these epic/special photos for my couples.

I love the simplicity of this one. There's something very pleasing about it, it's very elegant.
When I'm walking through a venue I look around at things that could be great for photos. This light was gorgeous, like art work, projecting beautiful patterns.

I love creating epic photos for my couples, something special, a bit different. This was just a wall of fairy lights and whenever I see fairy lights I see an opportunity! I put a red gel on the flash and a prism in front of my lens. It worked beautifully.

This image is a composite. Earlier I had slowed my shutter down to get the funky looking lights. I love how the shape is like an eye and right at the center are my awesome couple.
This was the room they'd had their wedding dinner in earlier. I had this idea in my mind when I saw the door and glad it worked out beautifully, so cool!

Oh boy, what a wedding! Such a brilliant couple, so much fun going on all day. They had lots of lights and fire sticks around. I saw these candelabras on their tables during dinner, so when the food was all munched up I rounded up the ushers to each hold a candle around the couple. It worked beautifully. The next minute they went in to dance to their awesome ceilidh!

Louise & Lloyd had got married in this exact same spot an hour before. What a beautiful building! I just knew I had to get a shot like this when I saw those windows. I placed an orange maggel on the flash behind them to give me that colour, and a maggrid to centre the light. Such a fun couple to work with.

These guys got all dressed up again to celebrate their 10 year anniversary - they even wore the same outfit. During the photo session a cigar was discovered in his pocket which was given on the actual wedding day 10 years ago. I had a beautiful time with these two, really easy going, up for trying anything. We went to the Donkey Sanctuary near Exeter, and walked down the coast from there.

I've been in love with these trees for some time now, seeing them in photos here and there, always visualising how I'd love to shoot the scene. Then I got the chance and couldn't have asked for more. Trees are incredible, sunsets are incredible, and most of all two people who dedicate their lives to one another.

I actually get excited when it rains on a wedding day. My mind starts planning something super cool for them. It's a bit of a buzz; all at the same time I am trying to keep them as dry as possible, keep my kit dry, and dial in just the right amount of flash power. Backlit rain seems to have such a magical effect for me.
Of course, I get mega excited at the 'golden hour' too; that warm romantic glow from the sun. It's good to use the weather to your advantage, you never know what you might end up with by just having some fun and trying things out.
