A wedding day is all about storytelling, and there are so many stories to be captured as the day unfolds. One of the most important things I have to offer as a wedding photographer is my 'eye' and how I see and anticipate heartfelt and evocative moments through the lens. My aim is to deliver clients a collection of images that help them to remember not only what their day looked like, but more importantly, what it felt like!

Ashleigh & Marty's wedding day was magical so I wanted to create a final image for the night that reflected that. After saying their vows in a beautiful lakeside setting at the Yanchep National Park, their reception was in the very unique Cabaret Caves, complete with stalactites. This image was taken at the entrance to the cave with my Profoto A1 behind them as a backlight, the ambient light from inside the cave made for a lovely warmth in the background.

This was such a dream wedding. The image was taken at the 'getting ready' part of the day in a Suite at the Parmelia Hilton in Perth. It is not often that we have access to such a large, light airy bridal prep location, even in beautiful hotel rooms the bed generally blocks access to a full length window composition. So this was the perfect opportunity for a bride & bridesmaid 'selfie' and later, lots of dress swishing. Thanks to Zena & her girls for being fabulous!

Kim & Kate were married in a beautiful intimate ceremony at the Registry Office in the city. Just prior I was scouting the surrounding buildings & locations when I spotted this opaque backlit scene, I knew immediately that I wanted to photograph them there in silhouette and was so happy with the outcome

The setting for this wedding was the incredibly picturesque Wise Vineyards in the Margaret River Region of Western Australia. The area is well known for it’s beautiful beaches and boutique wineries. So after some photo’s of the bridal party at the beach, capturing the bride & groom wandering through the vineyards at dusk seemed a perfect way to finish the day

Fairbridge Village in Western Australia was a beautiful location for this Aussie bride & her Norwegian groom to tie the knot. On the grounds is the most gorgeous chapel set in the surrounds of rural bushland as well as picturesque open fields and even this fabulous red Dodge vintage ute. As we drove into the village earlier in the day and saw the ute, we definitely knew we were going to make use of it. Kiara & Age were such a sweet couple and they were surrounded by a global community of friends and family to celebrate with them. It was wonderful to be a small part of their special day!

Karen & Mark said their very heartfelt vows under the Old Fig Tree in Mandurah, Western Australia on a beautiful Autumn afternoon. The tree was significant for them so I suggested we create a double exposure image for them featuring the leaves.

This image was taken at Castle Rock Beach in the Margaret River region which is a really beautiful part of Western Australia. This wedding was that little more special than usual as it was my second shooter's gorgeous daughter who was the bride (a little bit of pressure). I simply loved everything about this wedding, her vintage dress was stunning and the bride & groom were a dream to photograph

This was such a beautiful tender moment between the bride & her daughter who was also one of her flower girls. Although the scene was posted, the interaction between them was natural and genuine resulting in a lovely evocative image and memory for them to keep forever.

The location & moment combined had such a romantic, fairytale feel to it. Sharni & Brad were married in a beautiful ceremony under the large central tree at Yindana Lake near Mandurah in Western Australia. Sharni had walked down this staircase on her dad's arm on her way to say 'I-Do', so it seemed appropriate that she should make the journey again but this time with her new husband.
