Down The Dirt Road Photography is a natural light, portraiture and landscape photographer who loves chasing sunsets. On a personal note, weddings are hands down one of my favorite mediums to shoot. Watching two people declare their love before family and friends is second to none. I love to be creative, fun and laugh often. Whisking a bride a groom away right after the ceremony is such a favorite! I love those first moments as husband and wife where no one else matters and that moment in time is the most important.

Julia Goetz About

This sweet couple got married in the bride's parents backyard. Right next to their yard was an immense mint field. It was so incredibly hot this day so the mint smell was very strong! The hazy sun was just going down and I knew I wanted photos in the field. I had the idea for this photo for a while but needed the perfect setting to execute it. I knew this was the moment. I love how they are reaching for each other and the elegant feel of this image. It was spectacular light, an amazing couple and the perfect backdrop.

Julia Goetz About

It was a lovely wedding at sunset. The bride and groom thought it would be so special to ride in and out of their wedding on a horse. This image was taken right after the ceremony. I especially love how the bride rode her horse side-saddle! I ran over and stood on the very edge of the bank of the pond and started snapping. This was the first image I took in the series. I loved the setting sun, the reflections in the pond and the immense late summer hazy view of the hills and valley.

Julia Goetz About

There was a terrible wind and rain storm during this wedding. The power was out almost the entire day. 5 minutes before this photo was taken, the power was restored...it was late evening, but the setting sun popped out for a few minutes, so we had some beautiful late afternoon light on the groom's face. When I saw this sign on the grounds of the venue, I knew I had to have a photo by it. I originally wanted the bride and groom to kiss, but the groom kissed his bride's forehead and I knew that was so much better!
