One of my favorite weddings ever! Shot at the "Boiling Pots" on the big island of Hawaii! The bride and groom were assisted down a cliff by our tour guide while I hung off another cliff on the other side of the lagoon - shooting with one hand and holding onto a tree with another LOL! This shot was one those shots that happened so fast, that you didnt realize the impact it had until you sat down to look at the images from the day. We had just finished family formals and were starting to load onto the trolley to head around town and get some fun bridal party photos. The bridal party was milling about figuring out who was keeping the cooler full of beer at their seat, when I looked up from outside the trolley. David had walked past Erika to sit down in the seat behind her and give her dress some room. He leaned over and this just happened.
When I caught this happening out of the corner of my eye, I just lifted the camera up and started clicking. I metered quickly for the light, spun the shutter dial, and BOOM! This is one of the main reasons I love being a documentary styled photographer, because of moments like this. Its natural, unposed, and just really shows the connection between two people.
