Anna + Jay take a brief moment to get in touch with the beautiful Hawaiian earth post-ceremony. A moment to be present, to enjoy one another, to cherish this moment, the moment they committed their lives to one another... such a beautiful moment... Lanikuhonua, Oahu, HI. DJI Phantom 4

Sometimes the best photographic opportunities are just pure serendipity. Between wedding prep and the church ceremony , I saw this idyllic scene and had the limo driver pull over and we raced to pose the couple in this beautiful grove of trees.

I wanted the light in this photo to appear as window light, so I put off camera lighting in a position that was in perfect alignment with the subject. It goes without saying , that I was very pleased to see that she could do a Grand Jeté leap! At that point, the photo's composition was obvious and after about ten tries, we achieved this dramatic scene that appears both effortless and elegant and the same time.

We packed our umbrellas and headed to the top of Knox Mountain Park for an engagement session overlooking the City of Kelowna and Okanagan Lake. The rain never did come, though, just a beautiful spring sunset. Dragica and Kev were a dream to work with, so comfortable and sweet with one another.

I always love to shoot at this beautiful location and it is hard to go wrong with the gorgeous architecture in the background, the lighting, and great California weather.

Beth & Owain are the sweetest couple. This was shot in some woods near to where they live. It was a rainy day, as we were wondering along we stumbled across a fire....so obviously we had to use it!!! In the end we were all a little smelly, however worth every moment of laughter!! These guys are so cool and a best to work with!!

Jenn and Mark got married on the beach on gorgeous Fripp Island in South Carolina. We only had a few minutes to escape and take some pictures elsewhere, and I'd seen this little pond the day before when I'd arrived on the island. We hopped in the golf cart, I said, "Trust me!" and I brought them to this spot. This shot was one of, I think, only three we ended up snapping here before heading back in time for their first dance. What a beautiful, fun wedding with wonderful people!

When Paige and Jon got in touch and said they wanted to shoot with me while I would be out in Los Angeles, I suggested Abalone Cove as a possible location. Little did I know that from this beach, you could actually see Catalina Island and the very spot they got engaged :) This sweet couple was up for anything, including scrambling over rocks and down slopes to get beautiful shots... when you have a bouncy castle at your wedding, you're pretty chill/awesome people!

Aw, Janesse and Andrew! How do I get the sweetest couples?! This shot was the very last one of the night at their engagement session. It was another "Trust me!" situation, and as soon as I saw the preview on the back of the camera, I knew it had paid off. I cannot WAIT for their wedding next year in Puerto Rico!

Ariella & Sergei in a magic moment of their own prior to the reception..
The most important thing for me during the final hours before the couple ties the knot is for them to be free, happy, and mostly just be themselves, with no directing involved (except for the off camera flash that i asked the groom to hold with his left hand while walking:) )

It was about six in the morning when I ventured out to photograph this engagement shoot in the Florida Keys. I noticed how the colors on the coral shimmered as if a rainbow had fallen from the sky and landed there, so I layed down on the rocks to capture this beautiful moment. It's the little things in life that excitement me the most and pull at my heartstrings.
