It was around Christmas and we were atrociously cold standing on such a high peak being battered by the Icelandic winds. The couple had eloped to Iceland and I wanted to grab a few shots before I lost all the light with the days being so short there.
I placed the groom waiting for the bride to make her way and once everyone was in their positions my assistant jumped to grab their outer wear, hats and gloves for the shot. I literally had seconds to grab a frame before it was too cold and hypothermia kicked in and no matter how warm I wrapped the wind and the cold found its way in. I thought this shot really showed the state of things and made me giggle - the adventures we go on!
It was such an honour photographing Liezl and Matt's gorgeous and super fun vintage safari wedding in Botswana, Africa. They'd had a stunning outdoor ceremony during the day with the reception and celebrations in full swing soon after. As the setting sun shone through the dusty air I was able to sneak the couple away for a few moments to capture them silhouetted by the gorgeous golden African light.
These two were all party party!! So much fun to work with. It was getting to the end of the day and I knew I wasn't going to get them back out for long, luckily the dancing was just through doors on the veranda. As you can see, it was windy...the veil kept taking flight which Iooked awesome, needless to say we laughed as we tried to keep it under control! I had such an amazing day shooting Jamie & Tim's wedding.
