When Alyson and Garrett wanted a dramatic setting for their save-the-date photos, we headed to the iconic Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse on New York's Hudson River. Backed by the famed Tappan Zee Bridge, the loving couple danced into the sunset! Then, they danced some more.
It's all inspiring prelude for their gala New York wedding next summer.
My schedule was booked so when the time came for their engagement session, and it was totally pouring outside, we had one of two options. 1. Do no engagement session. or 2. Embrace the rain and go for it.
It just so happened that we were doing the shoot by a dock AND she was in blue, he was in a white shirt. This shot was never intended but when I was editing I looked at it and said, "Wow, it's The Notebook!"
We headed to the Hudson River just before sunset for Alyson and Garrett's engagement shoot. Most of our photos were oriented with the dramatic river as a backdrop. Then, I turned away, saw the sloping boat docks glowing in the end-of-day, summer light, and felt it would be an ideal setting to bring out the playful qualities in the loving couple.
All she had to down was float down the ramp into his awaiting arms.
