One of the best things we get on the west coast of Australia is sunsets at the beach. I have so many couples who fly all the way to Australia for their wedding and pre-wedding photos just so they can bring home images of themselves at our beaches and natural landscapes. I love the unpredictability of the coast. I can go back over and over throughout the year and it never looks the same. Like this image, all I need to do is ask my couples to walk out and enjoy the view and they find themselves walking into a work of art.
Alyce + John are as hilarious as they are cute together. John won Alyce over with with one heck of a card trick and it’s been a fairytale ever since. The image was captured in Las Vegas, NV last month down off Fremont St near Container Park where the “Life is Beautiful” festival is held. This awesome wall is by artist Ruben Sanchez!
It was a lovely wedding at sunset. The bride and groom thought it would be so special to ride in and out of their wedding on a horse. This image was taken right after the ceremony. I especially love how the bride rode her horse side-saddle! I ran over and stood on the very edge of the bank of the pond and started snapping. This was the first image I took in the series. I loved the setting sun, the reflections in the pond and the immense late summer hazy view of the hills and valley.
There was a terrible wind and rain storm during this wedding. The power was out almost the entire day. 5 minutes before this photo was taken, the power was restored...it was late evening, but the setting sun popped out for a few minutes, so we had some beautiful late afternoon light on the groom's face. When I saw this sign on the grounds of the venue, I knew I had to have a photo by it. I originally wanted the bride and groom to kiss, but the groom kissed his bride's forehead and I knew that was so much better!
From the first moment I stepped inside this breathtaking cathedral I knew I wanted to take a photograph showcasing the couple, architecture, and light - all of which were glowing and beautiful. After the bride and groom said their vows, I had them stand in the aisle and talk to one another until a real moment was created and I was able to document it all together in one gorgeous frame.
Paris - City of Love. Perhaps the most romantic city on Earth for a newlywed couple. Saori and Yoshihiko always wanted their iconic wedding photos to be taken during their honeymoon in Paris. We gathered on a quiet Sunday morning, just before the city began to wake. I was lucky and overjoyed to capture their love against the Parisian background. This is a place they can visit again and again. They can look back and cherish this special moment frozen in time.
Emma & Cameron's wedding was on a beautiful day in Saskatoon. As we were wrapping up our photo session for the day, it started raining and we headed to a set of antique apartment buildings with their umbrella! I stood in the middle of the street on the boulevard and was able to capture this shot of them together in the rain that day! This was definitely one of my favorite images from that year!
This is a park that I shoot at quite frequently. The bride mentioned how she loved all of the images I've taken by these trees, so she wanted to get something with her fiancé there. The only problem is it was dark and gloomy all day, and natural it looked very drab in the spot. I exposed for the sky behind the trees and used some flash to highlight the couple.
This couple was really great to work with, and the synagogue they chose for the event was great. The second I saw the staircase, I knew I had to take advantage. This was one of my first shots with the couple, and I immediately felt like I had struck gold when I looked through the lens
In the end of the ceremony, everyone was excited hurrying their way out to the next location. The couple got into the car as I was trying to take a picture of them. All of a sudden, they made this beautiful kiss. As the mom was taking a picture on her side with her smartphone it appeared to me that this moment was typical “Doisneau kiss” projected in our time. This couple and the bride’s mother holding her phone for - what it seemed - one last picture of her daughter, are a beautiful representation of what a today’s kissing scene can be. I am very glad that I could be here to capture this moment.
Holding close to their heart are their vows to each other. For a place in their heart is as sacred as this gem of nature surroundings in Perak. Eugene and Tracy enjoyed this place I've taken them to and soon we find some time to enjoy a peaceful moment ourselves. It was absolute enjoyment to end the day at a beautiful place like this
Both being avid fan of the Japanese manga, written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda - One Piece , the couple Wei Chien and jacky chose to have their photos taken by the beautiful coastline that greatly resembles the anime's beach scene. Loving the beach and each other made my job so much easier as they both were playful yet graceful and natural altogether. Every moment being present in the moment with them was pure joy.
This is a special picture for me personally as the groom is a good friend of mine. I was delighted when the couple picked me to be their wedding photographer as I was picturing this day in my head for a very long time. I wanted to add a personal touch to capture their special day. As I prepped the couple to the photo session I told them to remember the first day they laid eyes on each other, in an instant, they were in their own dreamland in love. The bond, the love, the affection , and happiness is simply captured in a picture frame. Preserving a love story is what brings joy to me and this picture surely witnesses the core. So thus far it's one of my personal favourites.
