This stunning bride had a dream of an outdoor wedding in the setting of Colorado's beautiful foothills. A storm rolled in and we all crossed our fingers that it would pass quickly. This incredible sky is the aftermath of that storm and, selfishly, I couldn't have been happier. Sometimes, the most unscripted things in life are the most beautiful.
I was so fortunate to photograph Tricia and Chad’s wedding on new years eve at the Hyatt Regency in Austin TX. For her big day Tricia chose a beautiful gold sequin dress, perfect for the occasion. I saw the amazing installation at the Hyatt and I knew we had to get a shot there, as the gold and silver sequence just created the right atmosphere for their wedding and new years celebration.
This creative portrait was taken at an engagement session and the swirls you see are made by the torch function on the couple's mobile phones!
One of the groomsmen at this wedding asked for a photo of himself in front of the fountain and as I took the obligatory photo i noticed a sliver of light peeking through the falling water. Knowing the sun was descending fast I grabbed the bride and groom and the result was this unique image.
This couple's special day was a lovely, intimate backyard wedding at the Bride's family home in Battle Ground, Washington. Wildfires in other parts of the state had covered the sky in a thick blanket of smoke creating an all day golden hour and the perfect scene for this sweet garden bride and groom session. Special thanks to this awesome couple for allowing me to capture their big day!
The small wedding of Wout & Anique happend in the summer, but on their weddingday is was cold and it rained the whole day. There was also a big storm and they married in a beachclub in Noordwijk in the Netherlands. After the ceremony they cut the cake and want to go outside, to the sea for some stormy pictures. They walked with their bare feet into the sea and they love the storm and rain and had so much fun in the water.
Tori and Bryan were one of my all time favorite couple’s to photograph, because they would do just about anything! Including climbing this huge Banyan Tree (and in a dress!) You can’t quite tell from this picture, but this tree was actually really huge. We were at Manoa Falls in Oahu and we were actually looking for a bamboo forest, but on our way there we saw this tree. It had a perfect little spot for them to stand in, and I was so thrilled this couple was game for it! The tree was just so magnificent and detailed and adding in this gorgeous couple such a cool shot! It was such a blast photographing them in Oahu, Hawaii!
This couple wanted to have an adventure for their couples session, so we decided to head to the hills and have a picnic in the grass while the sun was setting. We spent the whole evening together, laughed a lot, took some pictures and had a very nice moment. When I saw the light on the grass here, I instantly though it would be a perfect setting for this picture!
The location & moment combined had such a romantic, fairytale feel to it. Sharni & Brad were married in a beautiful ceremony under the large central tree at Yindana Lake near Mandurah in Western Australia. Sharni had walked down this staircase on her dad's arm on her way to say 'I-Do', so it seemed appropriate that she should make the journey again but this time with her new husband.
This couple, Sofia & Kevin hired me for two hours of coverage on their wedding day. They were married at the Travis County Courthouse and we had about 20 minutes to do their portraits. The sky was perfect. I wanted to make sure to somehow capture the sky in one of their portraits. They had chosen the renovated City of Austin Power Plant as their location. Now condos, but the original building still in tact, I found this new wall at the the corner of the lawn. I was street level and asked them to walk up there and stand so I can get them, in addition to the clouds. It could not have been a more perfect setting and we were so lucky with that the unpredictable, winter Texas weather cooperated for us.
This photo was taken at Grand Central station in NYC. Yuna and Ryohei were visiting from Japan to pick up her wedding dress from Vera Wang store, and they decided to have an engagement session with me during their stay. Yuna is a big fan of SATC, and some of the locations she requested were from that show. When we visited this location, I wanted to place them in the center of the frame, looking into each other's eyes - just falling in love with one another, and time has stopped… The slower shutter speed and the monochrome finish were helpful to create this feel in this one shot.
