This engagement portrait was shot on the Manhattan Bridge closer to the Brooklyn side. Chris works for a company that provides bikes throughout the city and we thought it would be fun to take Jacqui and him to a location incorporating their bikes. They also wanted to be somewhere that had special meaning to them and we picked the bridge because they have a view of it from the new home they’re building together. After carrying the equipment bags and bikes to the longest walkway of the bridge, they had a lot of fun riding and enjoying the view. While they were heading towards me, I called out to them, addressing them as the happy couple. Jacqui spontaneously flashed her ring finger in response and that’s the moment we captured. I am thrilled to be shooting their wedding this Spring!
This wedding is by far one of my favorite I have ever had the opportunity to shoot. This shot was taken during the couple's "first look" and I don't think either of them could have been more excited and in love. The bride's house is surrounded by peach orchards, and it was the perfect place to be able to capture this moment between the two of them.
Mike and Michelle had travelled from North Carolina in the USA to marry on the Isle of Skye. Originally their location was going to be Loch Coruisk, however the weather conditions meant that the boat was not able to sail there so we had to think of a different location. I suggested the Fairy Glen, when is a tiny, secluded spot with a huge tree under which they could get a little shelter from the cold wind and the intermittent rain. After parking the cards, Mike and Michelle and their guests were piped along the narrow road towards the spot where they would say their vows. They were brave - it was cold!
This photo was taken at Azul Fives resort in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. It was the last day of Jessica and Jeff's four day Indian wedding experience. Right after the last ceremony of the week we escaped to a pier for the couple to just enjoy some time together. The location was gorgeous and the sun was setting perfectly. The way they looked at each other is what made this moment great
Honestly, we have location scouting to thank for this image. The day before their wedding we headed up to Squamish, BC to scout the locations we had researched online. Funny enough, of the five locations not one of them had what we were looking for. In a last ditch effort we drove 30 minutes down a dirt road and ended up here! We were so excited to work with such an incredible landscape.
Vernon contacted me to capture his gorgeous proposal to Maggie on Waikiki Beach. I recommended sunrise as it’s an amazing time in the morning with gorgeous soft cotton candy colors. He requested we write a beautiful quote in the sand, a quote that had kept their long distance relationship thriving for the previous 6 years. As Vernon walked Maggie down the beach suddenly she saw the words that had she had been holding so dear to heart for the past 6 years and immediately burst into tears. “Anything is possible to a willing heart.” Vernon took Maggie’s hand and led her into a heart made of 100 purple orchids where he dropped to one knee, just as the sun poked it’s head over Diamond Head and asked Maggie a very important questions. (and in case you were wondering, she said “Yes!” ;)
Codi + Justin contacted me to capture their gorgeous engagement photos while here in Hawaii. Codi’s family is from the island so they wanted their engagement photos to capture this special place. They met each other while attending University and instantly fell in love. This adventurous couple decided to get wet near the end of their session. The passion is quite obvious between these two, as I just let it take over while they enjoyed each other in the sand.
This final image is probably one I'm not likely to repeat any time soon. Moored at Fremantle Port, this ship is a scale replica of the Duyfken, the first known European ship to sail to Australia in 1606. I noticed that the padlock on the gate had been accidentally left unlocked so we strolled on board to make this unique sunset portrait.
This image was taken out in the countryside down in Kendenup Western Australia. I loved the silhouette of this huge tree on the groom's family farm so whilst we strolled around the cow paddocks I noticed the sun peeking through the branches and we were able to make this gorgeous landscape portrait.
It was a hot sticky summer day threatened by storm clouds but thankfully the skies kept relatively dry. Just after sunset and 5 mins before speeches I convinced the bride and groom it was worth leaving their guests to make this image overlooking the beautiful Swan Valley. Not all my punts pay off but this one certainly did.
This photo was taken in Pearson Field at the Fort Vancouver National Site. This was one of the few days we got rain this past summer, it had rained on and off all the way through the afternoon but we got lucky and the rain broke just after the ceremony. With the rest of the evening dry we were able to sneak off from the reception for a romantic sunset session and the earlier ran gave us the beautiful moody sky.
This bride and groom took photos after their wedding day, on their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic. They were fearless and amazing to work with, not giving up to get the perfect shot sharing a kiss underwater. It was breathtaking!
