This photograph was taken in the loft of a 200-year-old traditional wooden house in the centre of the Vietnamese city of Hoi An during an elopement session. What drove me there was the moody atmosphere of the room and those incredible teal colored walls. The portrait was shot using only natural light, which in this case was a small beam coming in from a small window opening on the roof. I positioned the bride so that the beam would light up her face and left the groom in the shadows to add a level of mystery and romance to the image inspired by the sort of images frequently seen in Film Noir.

This wedding was stunning from start to finish! I was actually the second shooter at this wedding, but I got such key shots for them that I could not resist sharing some of these.
Their portrait session was one I remember the most from that year. Every photo we took was beautiful and I had a really hard time picking which image I wanted to submit! So glad I chose this one! You could hear the love that these two have for each other, yet alone see it.
Rachel and Akiva got married during the Covid19 pandemic and so many family members could not attend. From siblings to the parents of Akiva. To make matters even more difficult it started raining during their wedding - however that didn't stop them from making the most of the rain and getting soaked while having some photos. They grabbed the opportunity with both hands and loved every minute with memories for a lifetime.
We were so lucky with this photo session! The sun was shining for a small moment and we made the most beautiful shots in the Soesterduinen before the rain arrived. A beautiful day with lots of laughter. Especially after this picture was taken because they ended up both in the sand!
Because of COVID19, Hannah and Myles had to move their wedding and decided on doing it in Myles's parent's backyard. We didn't have a big grandiose ballroom or nature view of the mountains, but that wasn't going to stop me from creating something unique and epic for them.
I thought, "How could I tell this story creatively using what we have in the backyard?"
When I saw the fire pit and stacks of firewood, I decided that was it. A romantic moment by the fireplace together.
Weddings can be fun and reflect your personalities! Don't be afraid to bring In the things you like, such as brides and make an entrance!
“You don't find love, it finds you. It's got a little bit to do with destiny, fate, and what's written in the stars.”
That's exactly the story of this lovely couple.
