I love this bridal portrait which was taken on location at The Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary or Cerkev Marijinega Vnebovzetja as it is called in Slovene which stands on Bled Island. Bled is one of the most inspiring places I have ever visited, in fact Slovenia in itself is so beautiful.
Monique and Joe are a wonderful couple who is also very organized when it came to their wedding day planning. However, weather on the wedding day is one thing that you can not have control over 100%. Nevertheless, Monique and Joe were prepared! With the possibility of rain on their wedding day, we had discussed a contingent plan for the photoshoot location. Centennial Park Conservatory in Etobicoke was the back up location and it was a great choice! With the overcast day with rain, there wasn't much directional light inside the conservatory so the shot was created using a medium sized soft box with a speedlite to the right of the camera to create some direction and texture for the environment. In the end, with all the greens and the gentle flow of the veil, Monique and Joe had been instantly transferred to a tropical island for this photo.
The dressing room was an old refurbished bus and the light coming in was exquisite. The dress was a delicate light salmon color with beautiful details and the combination was so delightful.
this was just in the driveway to the venue for the wedding. we had planned to get there for some photos during the day but lost the light too quickly so we went back out later in the night and i think it looks even better! the flash picked up all the dust in the air which came out looking like stars
when the rain can be such a big part of your wedding and definitely something you will remember. its great to work with it rather than against it, and try get some thing that make the couple almost happy it rained!
This image was taken in Newcastle, NSW this month. The couple wanted to have a memory of the entire venue building for their heirloom keepsake, such a magical "castle like" Wedding Reception Venue.
Living in fairy tale is every bride’s dream and why don’t we make it come true during the photo section. With the castle as backdrop, and coincidently , a clock on the wall, as well as special light effect, we have achieved the mimic of the famous fairy tale story, making bride the happiest princess
This image is a visual metaphor for American author John Green’s words: “I fell in love the way you fall asleep, slowly and then all at once.”
This was from a super fun engagement session in Pittsburgh! The couple both went to Duquesne University, so we did the shoot on campus. It rained all day, and we did the best we could. For a second the rain stopped, and we were able to get this awesome shot!
Lulu and Fritz were married at the American Yacht Club, a gorgeous setting on Long Island Sound, surrounded on three sides by water. We found a window during the reception for relaxed portraits by the sea.. I love capturing motion and unguarded moments- in this case, I was captivated by the bride's swirling veil and groom's tie blowing in the wind . Then.... I caught her eye!
Gina and Megan's venue was a mile away from where we took their engagement photos. They chose their venue because of the gold accents. When we stumbled upon this beautiful building I knew we had to take a photo. I ended up placing my profoto with cto behind them and stepping into the street to take this image.
I was so thrilled when Andrea & Erik contacted me about 2 weeks before their wedding wanting to try working with colorbombs! I had the couple do some tests prior to see how long the smoke would last, if it would stain the dress and if they would be too hot to hold. By the time the day came we were ready but Hurricane Matthew had different plans. Instead of being a gorgeous autumn day, it was dreary and drizzly. But we were able to make a few shots before the rain took over! This one is definitely a lot of fun!
