This image was taken right outside one of Baltimore's most beautiful vintage hotel on a very rainy night. I knew I wanted to get a shot outside so we managed to run out quickly for 45 seconds to get this one shot. It's good knowing that my clients trust in me to take care of them and give them the most creative image in a situation like this.
What started as a rainy day at the Historic Bell Hill Bed + Breakfast in Southern Illinois, ended with an absolutely beautiful Sunset. It was the middle of Kenji + Stephanie's wedding reception and I knew we couldn't pass up this gorgeous painted sky... so I snuck them out and I sent them off dancing.
The beautiful weddingscape photo is from a recent destination wedding to Naarden, Holland where the grooms family has been married for generations.
Matt and Michelle hired me to come to New Orleans to document their special day. I arrived 2 days prior to their wedding to scout out locations and familiarize myself with the city and I took a tour of the Lafayette Cemetery and the Garden District. It was so incredible and I knew i wanted to somehow get my couple there for photos, but the cemetery is normally locked unless a tour is going on. I spoke to the tour guide and she told me what time to be there the day of the wedding and she was able to give us 10 minutes alone in the cemetery to make some photographs. The couple was so excited for the opportunity and this is one of my favorites. Taking that extra time to make a connection and plan for the day helped me get the couple images they never thought possible.
Keegan and Rachel didn't get a beautiful, sun filled day for their wedding but they did still get some beautiful photos thanks to the Hilton hotel in downtown Columbus, Ohio. This was the location for their first look before their ceremony and when we were at the top of this stair case I knew I had to send them down to the bottom for this shot!
This was such an amazing day - even the Weather Gods smiled on us. All week things were gray and wet but that morning the sun came out and the skies were blue. It was so much fun being with Jacqui and Chris along with their families to witness and celebrate their marriage. The Long Island setting was a perfect backdrop for the wedding and being able to have the ceremony on the beach was a dream come true.
The making of this photo can be summarized in one word:coincidence. It's just so happen that when I was taking photo of the newly-wed, I noticed a lovely coincidence, an elderly couple and a young couple sitting on chairs in the backdrop, evenly on both sides, and with the newly-wed in the middle, it composed the idea of two people passionately dated in young age, walking on the journey of life together and accompanied each other when getting old. What else can be better to portray their life ahead?
This beach-side hotel was a bit different for a wedding venue, and I wanted to try a different look for this bridal portrait. The color really 'pops' in this one. And with just the right light, and the perfect look, this shot is one of many highlights from a great shoot.
This sweet couple got married in the bride's parents backyard. Right next to their yard was an immense mint field. It was so incredibly hot this day so the mint smell was very strong! The hazy sun was just going down and I knew I wanted photos in the field. I had the idea for this photo for a while but needed the perfect setting to execute it. I knew this was the moment. I love how they are reaching for each other and the elegant feel of this image. It was spectacular light, an amazing couple and the perfect backdrop.
