This was my first time shooting at this venue, and I was blown away by the beauty and color. I really wanted to show off the lighting and size of the ballroom in a creative way, and in the end we got a gorgeous image out of it.

The Tarrytown House is a calm oasis in New York's Hudson River Valley, with an old world mansion, lovely grounds and commanding river views. Rachel was a beautiful, fun bride with a wonderful glow. Moments after she finished dressing, all the elements seemed to come together in a magical moment on the grand staircase of the Biddle Mansion, just prior to heading outside for the first look with her groom.

Danielle and Brendan had an absolutely perfect autumn day for their wedding. We were doing portraits at Deep Cut Gardens and it is one of the most popular places for wedding portraits so I was definitely trying to find a way to do something different. After the formal portraits I had the idea to do something fun with the bridal party and asked if they were up for a leaf fight! They loved the idea! I told them instead of throwing them at each other to toss them in the air so it looked like it was raining leaves. The lighting was perfection to bring the autumn colors to life! It's always more fun when couples and their bridal parties are up for anything and trust that I have a good idea up my sleeve to make a great photo.

I always work with a second shooter. This time it was so helpful to have her around. She was hidden in the background with her cellphone, so I could give her instructions for the couple. On this photo the groom is running towards his beautiful bride to hold her tight. The clean water was a gift, a few minutes later there was no reflection anymore because of the breeze.

This photo was taken at the Columbus Ohio Ice Hause, which is where the Blue Jackets practice! Sarah and Jeff both worked there and it is also where they met, so it was the perfect location for wedding photos! The wedding took place in August which meant super hot, so it was like a dream come true to get to go inside and cool off!

As Denis Waitley said, "a smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside.” With an early morning wedding ceremony, Roshni rose hours before dawn to prepare for her groom and we were there to capture the elaborate preparation. When Vipul began his day, there was just enough time to capture the prelude to their first look through his window three floors directly above his beautiful bride's. The light coming from their windows was the perfect illumination of the love and care they have for each other.

Grand Central is such an iconic location and we thought it would be really romantic to commemorate Lori and Scotts’ marriage surrounded by the hustle and bustle of New Yorkers rushing from one place to the next. People from New York are famous for how adept they are at ignoring their surroundings and the activities taking place around them so it was quite the surprise for us that the hardest part of getting this shot was everyone stopping to congratulate them! Throughout the entire station, people were cheering and clapping and shouting out well wishes! It made the whole shoot magical and I believe it’s a memory and story that they’ll treasure and share in the years ahead.

This photo was made in the traditional hotel in Brazil (Copacabana Palace), located in Rio de Janeiro, Copacaba moments before the bride went to the ceremony.

This photo was taken at Piha Beach in New Zealand and was part of their engagement session. The couple are both originally from the Island of Niue, a beautiful coral atoll in the South Pacific Ocean and wanted to incorporate the ocean into their photographs. With its dramatic landscape and black sand, Piha was an easy choice and not to far from the couples home.
This beach is famous for its surf and you can see the spray from the water in the background caused from the rough waves.
